Why Study Shared Parenting?
There appear to be two different perspectives on the presumption of shared time parenting, one expressing concern about domestic violence or safety and responsibility, and the other concern about parental alienation from children, or the rights of parents; both are perceived to be problematic to policy reform toward shared parenting [1] [2]

Our 3-Province Study
Our 3-province study in Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario revealed all participants experienced domestic violence, and there is a correlation between domestic violence and co-parenting (shared parenting).
Current Research:
Networking with Communities Across Canada to Support Study Recruitment:
We are currently connecting with stakeholders across Canada to learn how to best engage with diverse women in shared parenting relationships who have experienced domestic violence and coercive controlling behaviours.
Through Zoom sessions we are developing lists of key stakeholders to support recruitment and develop considerations for best practices for recruitment strategies, such as potential partnerships with community agencies.
